Why You Need Insurance

When it comes to protesting everything you’ve worked for – your home, auto, personal finances – there is nothing more important to your financial plan than having the appropriate insurance to cover all of these areas.

Here are a few things for you to think about. What would happen to your family if you were no longer around to take care of them? Would all the savings and investments you’ve made over your lifetime be used up to pay for funeral expenses, outstanding medical bills, and just to take care of their living expenses for a period of time? With the right insurance coverage, you can be sure they are taken care of and can deal with whatever comes their way in the event of your death.

If your car was wrecked beyond repair, would you be able to replace it without collision coverage? Is this something you need to reevaluate on your current auto insurance to make sure you have the right amount of coverage? Are your liability limits too low or too high? If they are too high, you may be paying more of a premium than is necessary. If your liability limits are too low, you are opening yourself up to lawsuits and loss of savings or investments to pay the liability claim if you are involved in an accident. You need enough to cover the loss of property costs and the personal liability.

If you had a catastrophic medical event, could you recover financially? Health insurance is something that a lot of people are struggling with. It is only going to get more expensive to carry health insurance and some employers will no longer supply health insurance to their employees, leaving it up to you to take care of everything. But you do have options for health insurance that will, at the very least, keep you from losing everything you own to pay medical expenses. At the very least, you should make an appointment with your local agent to discuss the health insurance options you have available. Don’t just assume you cannot afford health insurance. Do your due diligence to find out what your options are for purchasing health insurance.

Is your homeowners insurance policy up to date with enough coverage to replace your home in the event of a total loss? Don’t assume you have everything covered when it comes to protecting the biggest investment you may make in your life. And make sure you have all your homeowner’s coverage up-to-date and take into consideration all the upgrades you have done to your home and property.

Please give some thought to everything I mentioned above. You are much more likely survive whatever life challenges may come your way if you make sure you have the right amount of insurance for each of these areas – home, auto, life, health. You can call our office and meet with me or one of our other competent professionals to learn more about how to protect your valuable assets.
