I look at my profession not just a person who sells insurance, but a trained profession that takes pride in his job in taking care of the needs of each client on an individual basis. It takes a personalized approach tailored to the needs of each customer.
Here are a a few of the things I do to maintain that personal touch:
1. To let each customer know how much I appreciate them trusting me to service their insurance needs, I send out a personal thank you card to let each customer know how special they are to me.
2. Everyone likes to be remembered on their birthday, so I always send a birthday card on that special occasion in someones life. I can not tell you how many times that I am out in public and someone stops me just to let me know how much they appreciate the birthday card.
3. I may look for announcements or promotions in the paper where one of my clients has a life changing event, such as a new addition to the family or receiving an award. I always try to send a congratulations card in the mail. Little things like this mean a lot to a person.
The personal touch does make a difference in your business and your customer’s life. The little things really matter in business. Think about how you are keeping in touch with your customers and let them know you are thinking about them. Little things can have a huge impact on a person’s life.
