Insurance is something we kind of take for granted. Most of us have car insurance, life insurance, a home owner’s policy, and hopefully, health insurance. BUT … are you really covered? Do you have all the insurance you need to protect yourself, your family, and your valuable possessions?
Taking your insurance coverages for granted is not a smart move when it comes to protecting your valuable assets. For example, if your car were stolen out of your driveway while you left it running to warm up so you wouldn’t have to get into a cold car, would you be covered? If someone burglarized your home and burned it to the ground, what would be the payout on your homeowners policy? Would it cover your music instruments, your firearms, that valuable family heirloom left by your great grandmother? Is your four-wheeler stored in the detached garage that burned down last week covered under your homeowner’s policy?
These are questions you need to be asking this time of year. And do you have an annual review scheduled with your local insurance agent? If not, then it may be time to make the call to set a date and time for a meeting.
These are things that most of us do not think about until it’s too late. That’s why it’s so nice to have your insurance with a local agent you can meet with face-to-face anytime you want to discuss these things … at least on an annual basis. But more if your situation changes. It could be a marriage, divorce, a windfall of cash, an illness in the family, or any number of other things.
Life is constantly changing, so make sure your insurance coverage will take care of all your needs when you need it. Make sure the premiums you’ve been paying all these years are paying for what you really need.
